The
Library
Using the former Reading Railroad Station that once stood in the
vicinity of the proposed library location as inspiration, Frank
Fox, President of Greenfield Architects, Ltd., Lancaster, Pennsylvania has
designed a substantial modern structure that evokes the memory
of a railroad station.
The proposed library is to be built on land behind the municipal
building, running parallel to the former railroad tracks near
where the S & S and the L & T railroads intersected. It
will be in the downtown area with easy access for all.
In addition to books and periodicals, the library will be fully
equipped with computers and Internet access for patrons. It will
also contain a conference room in which organizations may schedule
meetings, as well as an adjoining coffee shop for the public.
